Opening day
Apr 14 2014 9:21PM
It was an overcast morning the field was ready, and the weatherman predicted no rain, but of course he was wrong. We played in the rain, the pitchers dealing the wetness and multiple types of balls. The Sox took the lead in the second when new comer Bobby B grounded out plating the first run. Then all was quiet until the fourth when the A's Scored 3 runs of their own. The Sox battled back in the bottom of the 4th with 5 of their own. The A's were not done scoring 2 in the 6th and 2 in the top of the 8th to take the lead 7-6. In the bottom of the 8th Brian Coleman got the game tieing RBI plating Neal Blanchard, who got the inning started taking one for the team. With the bases loaded Shaun Beauregard knocked in the game winning RBI on a broken bat hit to centerfield with the Pitcher ducking as the barrel flew into the middle of the diamond. A's outfielder made and excellent throw to nail Erik Torgerson trying to score from second. Chris Boss pitched a solid 9th striking out the last 2 hitters with a runner on third.
